The Law is in Your Hands

More4 news have come up with an interesting television concept:

Should The Meat Licence Proposal enter into this project?  Why is a news programme attempting to influence the decision making of parliament makers?

I think if we sent over  some

I think if we sent over  some text & a web link, maybe a short bit of video, which let them know we aren't just a bunch of headbangers, that there is something more going on, about law making, then we might be in with a chance.
Wether we want to put too much effort into getting into the mainstream media with the project at the minute is another matter.

Shouldnt we be focusing on engaging more people in this open source law making on our own platforms first? (web/wiki/face to face)?

To answer my own question, I think we can do both at once & that it would be

a) fun

b) A good engagement tool to use with the people we are hoping to get on board

I think if any news show is going to 'get" the project it would probably be channel 4 news.

Who the hell do they think they are?

I don't like the self satisfied tone of the More4 pitch - "We are giving the power back to the the people..." - Who the hell do they think they are?  When did the media suddenly become custodians of power?  Further mediation of this project by television will only take the REAL aspect of LAW MAKING further from "the people."
